Behind the Roast

Small batches. Dry heat. Every single day.

What Makes UR Nuts Different From Grocery Store Nuts?

We roast in small batches, onsite, every day, using dry heat only! Never oils.

Most commercial nuts are oil-roasted months before they reach a shelf. Dry roasting keeps the flavor of the nut itself front and center, keeps the crunch sharp instead of greasy, and leaves the nutrition intact. It's slower and it's fussier. It also tastes like the difference!

Why Dry Roasting Matters

When a nut is roasted in oil, it absorbs that oil. You're not just tasting the nut anymore, you're tasting whatever it was fried in, plus the calories and fat that came along with it! The texture goes slick instead of crisp.

Dry roasting uses heat alone. The nut's own natural oils come to the surface during roasting, which is exactly what you want. That's the flavor that was already there, brought forward instead of buried. The crunch stays clean. The nutrition stays where it started!

It takes longer. It requires more attention. Batches are smaller because you can't walk away from them. We think that's a fair trade!

How Fresh Are The Nuts?

We roast daily in small batches. If you get a bag from us, it was in a roaster this week!

That's not marketing language. It's a consequence of how we work. We don't roast to a warehouse, we roast to what we expect to sell. Online orders are roasted and shipped fresh rather than pulled from months-old stock!

How Long Do They Stay Fresh?

For the best flavor and crunch, enjoy unopened bags within 90 days of purchase. Once opened, keep the bag tightly sealed in a cool, dry place and enjoy within four weeks.

Because we roast in small batches and don't use preservatives, our freshness timeline reflects when the nuts taste their best rather than how long they remain edible. Nuts contain natural oils that eventually soften and go stale. Nothing in our bags is fighting that on your behalf, which is the point!

Storage tips: Keep your nuts in an airtight container in a cool, dark place! For even longer freshness, store them in the refrigerator or freezer. When freezing, allow the sealed container to return to room temperature before opening to help preserve their crisp texture.

Our Roasters

We learned this craft from a long-standing West Virginia nut shop that had been doing it right for decades! We secured both antique and modern roasters, then spent months dialing in our process before we ever opened the doors.

Noah — Master Nut Roaster & Creator of the Chaos
Noah is the mind behind our recipes, roasting styles, and signature flavors. After months of testing, tweaking, and occasionally creating a little chaos, he developed the small-batch process that defines UR Nuts today.

Lauren — Master Nut Roaster & Keeper of the Chaos
Trained by Noah, Lauren quickly mastered the craft and became the steady hand that keeps the shop running smoothly. She does a little bit of everything, specializes in our Cinnamon Glazed and Seasoned Collections, and somehow keeps Noah’s chaos under control.

What's Actually In The Bag

Nuts and seasoning. That's the whole list!

Every product page includes the full ingredient statement, and if you see something you can’t pronounce, don’t panic... it’s usually just the formal name for a spice or ingredient you’ve eaten a thousand times before.

A Note On Allergens

All of our products are made on shared equipment that processes peanuts and tree nuts. We cannot guarantee that any item is completely free from traces of other nuts. Customers with severe peanut or tree nut allergies should use caution before purchasing or consuming our products.

We'd rather tell you that plainly than bury it!
